Analysis in Life

Many blogs lately have dealt with analyzing random aspects of life due to our training from English class.  Earlier today, my aunt and I went to see Billy Elliot at Playhouse Square and I found myself thinking of random literary terms throughout the play, as I noted the external conflicts and the key role juxtaposition played in message of the play.  This typical analysis, however, lead me to a realization: I would not have enjoyed the play nearly as much if I had not looked at it in this light.  The analysis I subconsciously performed lead me to appreciate the artistic qualities of the play, and truly enjoy it and understand it much more, than if I had just watched the play and not have the instinct to think deeper about what was really going on.  This new trait we as AP English students have developed will help us, even though it sounds a little over the top, appreciate and understand many things outside of the classroom in a much more meaningful way.
